Music has been a constant source of inspiration and expression throughout my life. At the age of seven, I began taking ballet lessons, which inspired me to study piano because I wanted to play the beautiful pieces performed by the accompanist during class. Under the guidance of my piano teacher, I performed at numerous nursing homes and was awarded first place in the Helen Crowe Snelling Piano Competition.

When I began college, I had the opportunity to explore a wider range of musical instruments. I had always been captivated by the sparkling harp cadenzas featured in ballet scores such as The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and The Sleeping Beauty, which inspired me to begin studying the harp. I was fortunate to study harp at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, where I performed at the Church of the Holy Spirit and participated in the Harp Ensemble for several years.

More recently, I had the opportunity to perform at the Angela Waite Student Recital, which showcases students who have received outstanding jury evaluations. I also performed at the Celebration of Life for Graham Gund, the celebrated architect whose contributions helped shape Kenyon College's physical campus and student experience.

This year, I reached the highest level of instruction, Level IV standing, in which students are expected to demonstrate substantial command of both technique and artistry. The hallmarks of Level IV include musical independence, creativity, and the ability to make a performance uniquely one's own. Achieving this level is also a prerequisite for students presenting a recital sponsored by the Music Department.
